History of Pottawatomie Co Rural Water District No. 2

1977-78:  First construction project completed to start the Rural Water District.

1997:       50,000 gallons elevated tank constructed.

1997:       Highway 13 construction project.

1997:       2 wells developed and put into service.

1997:       Well Pump Station constructed.

1997:       Olsburg Booster Pump Station constructed.

1997:       24,500 gallon ground storage tank constructed.

2006:       Spring Creek construction project.

2006-07: 190,000 gallon standpipe constructed.

2009:       Installation of new SCADA control system.

2013:       New VFD's and electrical component upgrade at Well Pump Station.

2019:       Installed new remote meter reading system.

2022:       Installed new gas chlorination system.

  • 264,000 gallons of water storage capacity.
  • The distance from the RWD's furthest East customer to West customer is approximately 20 miles.
  • The distance from the RWD's furthest North customer to South customer is approximately 20 miles.
