Rules and Regulations for Yard Irrigation Systems 2023

Yard irrigation systems must be approved by RWD2 before installation.

Federal laws prohibit cross connection between a public water supply and a private well.

Application for additional water use must be submitted to RWD2.

A backflow preventer must be installed by a qualified technician.

• The backflow preventer must be tested yearly by a certified tester.
  • The test results must be submitted to RWD2.

Water flow through a yard irrigation system must not exceed ten (10) gallons per minute.

All yard irrigation systems must be used after 11:00pm and turned off by 5:00am the following day.

Note: Daily water use is monitored by RWD2.

Failure to follow these rules and regulations will result in termination of water service after the third violation.

• If water service is terminated, then a $100.00 reconnection fee applies.
